We focus on providing care to all of our patients in a compassionate, professional, and fun environment. Our team is committed to providing each of our valued patients and their families with outstanding customized care. We are devoted to making every dental experience rewarding and enjoyable.
Nurturing a long-term relationship with my patients is a top priority. I believe that providing gentle and conservative care for my patients is one of the most important components to create a positive experience for both the child and their parent(s). One of my main goals is to make the visit to our office comfortable and interactive, so that the children leave looking forward to their next visit because of what they learned and how much fun they had!
I originally grew up near Portland, Oregon where I came to appreciate all the unique offerings of living in Portlandia. Later, I moved up the coast to Seattle to attend the University of Washington for college. I remained on the west coast to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, San Francisco. At UCSF, I graduated with several top honors and recognition for remarkable community service. I would often seek out extra treatment opportunities at community clinics, to provide infant oral exams and teach dental education to
underserved families. This is where I discovered my passion to treat children exclusively and decided to pursue advanced training to specialize in pediatric dentistry. I received my Master of Science degree in Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. I am a board certified pediatric dentist who is experienced in conscious sedation, IV sedation, and hospital dentistry. I have been practicing pediatric dentistry in Texas since 2008 and have settled in Austin to be close to my family.
Aside from work, I have recently become an avid participant in sprint triathlons. I’m proud to say that I’ve completed three triathlons during my inaugural year (2013) in the sport and I plan to continue training and competing with my siblings and cousins in future triathlons. I also enjoy ultimate frisbee, snowboarding, tennis, paddle boarding, cooking, and traveling.

Born and raised in Southern California, I stayed close to my family and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for college. Like many others, I was a young adult in college who felt some insecurities about my appearance. It didn't help that I was also a freshman in college with braces on. I didn't truly realize how much my crooked teeth could affect my social interactions with other people, until the day my orthodontist took my brackets & wires off. That's when my smile was finally straight and I started noticing a huge change from within. Almost instantly I was beaming with more self-confidence and joy. This change helped shape my personality into who I am today. My braces changed my life and were the driving force towards my decision to apply for dental school; I wanted to help people find a similar positive change in themselves. That's when I knew I wanted to become an Orthodontist.
Although I had the aspirations of becoming an orthodontist early in dental school, during my junior year I decided to use my skill set to support
a greater purpose and take part in a different way of life. I accepted a commission to become a Captain in the United States Air Force and served as a general dentist for three years. I viewed being an officer and a general dentist in the US Air Force as an opportunity to grow and improve both as an individual and as a clinician while contributing to a larger cause. I welcomed the unique opportunity of living overseas and was fortunate to be stationed near Cambridge in the United Kingdom for two years. After completing my service with the Air Force, I moved back across the pond to New York City to obtain my Orthodontic Specilization at Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine.
After completing my Orthodontic specialty training in New York, I moved to Austin, TX to practice orthodontics and to finally live in the same city as my wife.

I was born and raised in Portland Oregon then moved to Seattle Washington for both undergraduate and dental school. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington. Prior to dental school, I had the opportunity to visit Vietnam and participate in a volunteer program where I fell in love with pediatric dentistry. I witnessed volunteer dentists getting children out of their dental pain and providing oral health education to improve their life long oral health. After this experience, I knew I not only wanted to pursue an education in dentistry but public health as well, in order to understand the complexities that occur within our social systems that affect the health of communities. After dental school, I pursued a three-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency program at the University of Illinois at Chicago where I received a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, Master of Public Health, and Master in Oral Sciences. I am a board eligible pediatric dentist with experience in conscious sedation and hospital dentistry.
I strongly believe that it is important to understand many facets that families and communities face in order to help them achieve optimal oral health. It is important to work with families to help them understand the challenges they are facing in order to overcome them successfully.
I recently moved to Austin to be closer to family. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, cooking, traveling, outdoor activities, board games, spending time with family and my two dogs Frankie and Umi.

I was raised in southern Alabama near the Gulf Coast. I completed my orthodontics residency at the University of Tennessee in 2014 and moved straight to Texas! Quite literally, the day after graduation. I became Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics as quickly as possible and have been helping Texans smile ever since. My wife and I love living in Austin, and are happy to raise our three daughters here. We love all things Austin: barbeque, tacos, the hill country, creeks and greenbelts, running, the heat, Town Lake, Zilker park, Barton Springs, living outside as much as possible. I couldn’t be happier to be an orthodontist in the best city in the USA.
